Another Country Suspends Economic Relations with Israel

Bahrain has decided to recall its ambassador from Israel and suspend economic relations with the Jewish state. The Israeli ambassador has also left Manama, according to a statement by the Kingdom's Parliament.

"The Parliament confirms that the Israeli ambassador has left the kingdom, and Bahrain has decided to return its ambassador to Israel. Economic relations with Israel have been suspended," the message states.

This decision has been made in support of the Palestinian people. The authorities claim that in light of the escalation of the conflict and its inconsistency with international humanitarian law, the Bahraini representatives' council is urging for new measures to protect the lives of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously condemned the actions of the Israeli army in Gaza as having serious consequences, including “disastrous humanitarian conditions” and threats to the lives of innocent Palestinians.

Earlier, the Bolivian government had decided to sever diplomatic relations with Israel. Colombian President Gustavo Petro has also announced that he is recalling his ambassador from Tel Aviv for consultations.
