Tbilisi Aims to Become the Place Where a Major Peace Agreement Will Be Signed: Nikoloz Samkharadze
Georgia seeks to assume a leading role in the region, which is why it is making efforts to facilitate the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku. This was announced by Nikoloz Samkharadze, the head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, during a broadcast on Georgian Public Television.
According to him, the "3+3" format is unacceptable for Georgia; however, Tbilisi continues to work on developing bilateral relations with Turkey and on establishing a trilateral format involving Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
"The '3+3' format is unacceptable for Georgia; our position is very firm. As long as the country's territory is not de-occupied, and Russia does not recognize our territorial integrity, we will not participate in that format," Samkharadze elaborated.
Samkharadze added that Tbilisi aims to become the venue for a major peace agreement.
