“Artsakh Children May Face Different Issues in Schools,” Ombudsman Elaborates
The protection of the rights of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh is a priority for us. This was stated by Human Rights Defender of Armenia Anahit Manasyan during the discussion of the 2024 state budget draft in the National Assembly of Armenia.
She noted that in the current situation, it is especially important to provide appropriate psychological support to Artsakh children, particularly regarding school-aged children.
According to Anahit Manasyan, bullying, which is a form of psychological violence, is quite prevalent in schools. “Despite our environment being very compassionate and supportive, it cannot be ruled out that Artsakh children might differ in certain aspects, having different ways of speaking, mentalities, and cultural characteristics, which could lead to them facing various issues in schools. Therefore, we are closely monitoring their integration in schools,” said Anahit Manasyan.
