We Urge Artsakh Residents to Surrender Weapons: Police

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a statement which reads: "According to the law on the regulation of weapon circulation, the circulation of weapons in the Republic of Armenia includes the storage, registration, carrying, transportation, use, etc. of weapons.

Considering the monitoring powers of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia regarding the circulation of weapons, we urge our compatriots who have been forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to present any illegally held weapons and military ammunition to the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. We remind that, according to Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, individuals who unlawfully carry weapons, as well as those who violate the rules of circulation of firearms, their main components, military ammunition, and other materials, devices, or objects, can be exempt from criminal liability by surrendering these items before competent authorities ascertain their whereabouts."
