The Souls of the Dead Meet the Living: Zakharova on Blinken's Children's Costumes

Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has addressed the Halloween costumes of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's children on Telegram. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

According to Zakharova, this serves as a reminder in the United States that "on this day, the souls of the dead meet with the living". She noted that on Halloween, Secretary Blinken took his children to the White House dressed as "Zelensky" and in the colors of the "Ukrainian flag". Apparently, this was a way for the U.S. to highlight the significance of this day, when, according to Anglo-Saxon tradition, the souls of the dead meet with the living. President Joe Biden attended the event in costume as well.

Earlier, it was reported that the day before Halloween, President Biden was handing out candies to children at the White House in his costume. At the event, Secretary Blinken's son was dressed as Zelensky, while his daughter wore colors of the Ukrainian flag.
