Russia's Foreign Ministry Announces Termination of Visa-Free Agreement with Ukraine
The Russian Foreign Ministry has officially announced that the visa-free regime agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, in effect since 1997, has been terminated as of January 1 of this year. This was reported by Ria Novosti.
The ministry's announcement, published on the Pravo.gov.ru portal on October 30, states that as of January 1, 2023, the agreement signed on January 16, 1997, in Moscow, concerning visa-free travel for Russian citizens, is no longer in effect.
In 2022, Ukraine announced the introduction of a visa regime with Russia. Electronic copies of the Ukrainian notification have been sent to the Russian side.
