Russia and Belarus to Jointly Produce Hydrogen-Fueled Trucks
Russia and Belarus will jointly produce hydrogen-powered trucks, according to Techkult.
Yuri Dobrovolski, head of the hydrogen division of AFK Sistema, stated that in the near future, the company will organize a joint venture for the production of promising freight trucks powered by hydrogen.
Meanwhile, Dobrovolski clarified that the first prototype of the truck, which will have a carrying capacity of about 12 tons, is expected to be ready for demonstration by early 2024, with mass production set to commence by the end of next year.
Moreover, a preliminary order for 30 units has already been placed, which could nearly offset the entire project cost.
Joint efforts are already underway with Belarusian partners on the development of the hydrogen truck, and the creation of the aforementioned joint venture is in progress. There is a high likelihood that the hydrogen-powered 12-ton truck will be showcased around the New Year.
