Increase in the Number of Female Patrol Officers Expected: Pashinyan on the Patrol Service

The strategic goal and primary objective of the Republic of Armenia is to increase the involvement of women in the patrol service to at least 30 percent. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at an event dedicated to the launch of the patrol division in the Armavir region.

“Today we are concluding the establishment of the patrol police in the Republic of Armenia. Today, the last four regions without a patrol police—Armavir, Ararat, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik—will have a Patrol Police, thus covering the entire republic. The Patrol Police in Armenia is now a reality, and soon another component will be added—by December, a water and coastal service will also be operational on Lake Sevan, which is already established within the frameworks of the Gegharkunik region's service,” he noted.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that, according to evaluations by international organizations, Armenia ranks 9th globally in terms of rule of law and crime situation, meaning it stands among the best. He stated that this is all a result of the reforms in the police and the judicial system as a whole.
