According to Egyptian Al Qahera News television, the explosion occurred near a hospital. An explosion was heard following the missile's impact, and, according to the broadcaster, the incident is linked to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza.

The missile, which was likely fired during clashes between Israeli forces and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip, landed near a medical facility in the Egyptian Red Sea resort town of Taba, close to the Israeli border. The incident took place early on October 27, with the missile striking an ambulance station and a nearby residential building.
