Several Dozens of Individuals Interrogated in October 27 Case Over the Past Year: Prosecutor's Office

The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has published information regarding the investigative and procedural actions undertaken in the October 27 case during the years 2022-2023.

"In relation to the criminal case initiated regarding the terrorist act committed by Nairi Hunanyan and others on October 27, 1999, several dozens of individuals have been interrogated or re-interrogated in 2022-2023 to identify possible other participants in the criminal actions, other officials who had the capacity and obligation to prevent them, and individuals related to the weapons and ammunition used in the act.

Based on the decisions made by the investigating authority, numerous personal files of officials have been seized, as well as other criminal cases linked to the incident, which are currently under review.

During the preliminary investigation, a significant number of recordings and audios relevant to the case were seized; expert assessments have been commissioned for these materials and are currently underway. Applications and accompanying documents have been received, and the applicants have been interrogated concerning these documents.

Based on the factual data gathered during the preliminary investigation, several investigative hypotheses have been posited to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident, and an investigation plan has been prepared to verify these hypotheses.

In order to clarify the circumstances of the terrorist act that occurred in the National Assembly of Armenia on October 27, 1999, and to ensure a comprehensive, complete, and objective investigation of the case, procedural and evidentiary activities are being conducted.
