India Considers Supplying New Batch of Military Equipment to Armenia: Media

India is considering the potential supply of a new batch of military equipment to Armenia, its strategic ally in the Caucasus, following the successful delivery of the first batch of weapons last year. This was reported by the Economic Times.

Recently, a senior Armenian official visited New Delhi to discuss this issue. India has established itself as a reliable supplier of weapons capable of meeting Armenia's needs.

While the details of the new deliveries remain undisclosed, Armenian observers believe that the new batch may include equipment aimed at enhancing Armenia's capabilities against Azerbaijan in the ongoing conflict, which is supported by Pakistan and Turkey.

The previous batch sent to Armenia included Pinaka multiple rocket launching systems, anti-tank missiles, rockets, and ammunition. Reports indicate that the weapons were delivered through Iranian territory.

These supplies have sparked discontent in Azerbaijan. The Pinaka system is particularly important for Armenia, especially in light of Azerbaijan's use of drones, as its “fire and forget” capability allows for evasion from enemy fire.

The cost-effectiveness and ease of use of the system make it ideal for Armenia, considering that it is similar to the Russian-made GRAD system.

New weaponry delivered to Armenia is currently being tested by Armenian military personnel, and according to Armenian authorities, the results are “very satisfactory,” the publication reports.
