Government Decides to Announce Winter Draft for 2023

The government, during its meeting today on October 26, has decided to announce the winter draft for mandatory military service for the year 2023 and to carry out discharges.

The decision states:

1. To declare the winter draft for mandatory military services and alternative services for male citizens of the Republic of Armenia from October 27 to January 31, 2024, inclusive, for those citizens who turn 18 by December 31, 2023, inclusive, as well as for those citizens whose previously granted deferral expires by December 31, 2023, inclusive.
2. To discharge those who have completed mandatory military or alternative military service within the legally established deadline up to January 31, 2024, inclusive.
3. To dismiss service members who have completed alternative civilian service within the legally established deadline.

The draft specifies that the period for fulfilling the draft within the framework of the Army's replenishment is set from January 8 to January 31, 2024, while discharges for those who have completed mandatory military service will be conducted from December 20, 2023, to January 31, 2024, inclusive, as the replenishment during the winter draft of 2021 was carried out from December 20, 2021, to January 31, 2022, inclusive.
