Video: Court Session on Vagif Khachatryan Case Begins in Baku

A court session has commenced in Baku regarding the case of Vagif Khachatryan, who was unlawfully abducted from the Hakari Bridge in late July. According to Azerbaijani media, witnesses identified as 'victims' are providing testimonies in court.

The 70-year-old resident of Artsakh refutes the charges presented by Baku, which allege his involvement in 'genocide.' The elderly man's relatives also insist that he was merely a civilian driver and did not participate in any military operations during that period, nor did he hold any military rank, and he was not involved in the events described in the state prosecution.

Vagif Khachatryan was abducted and taken to Baku during the summer while attempting to cross the Azerbaijani checkpoint at Hakari for an emergency heart surgery to Armenia. A few hours after his arrest, Baku declared that he had been wanted for a long time, even issuing an international search warrant.
