Judges' Salaries to Increase

Judges' salaries in Armenia are set to increase by 60 percent. This announcement was made by Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balayan during the second and final discussion of a bill amending the "Law on the Payment of Work of Persons Holding State Positions and State Servants" in a session of the National Assembly on October 25.

The salary increase will take effect starting January 1, 2024, with the salary for one judge reaching 1 million 60 thousand drams. There are 300 judges working in this capacity, with the salaries of 206 of them expected to rise.

"These judges serve in administrative courts, as well as in courts of general jurisdiction and in bankruptcy cases," Balayan noted.
