Armenia Prohibits the Use of Low-Quality Implants in State-Sponsored Medical Services
The importing companies will now be able to demand a certificate of origin and quality compliance for the implants placed in the human body from the manufacturer. The National Assembly of Armenia has adopted the relevant bill.
The proposal to amend the law on "Medical Aid and Services to the Population" was introduced by MP Lusine Badalyan from the Civil Contract party on October 25. In her speech, she noted that the bill will regulate issues related to any medical device implanted in the human body under state sponsorship.
"We have required that there must be a compliance certificate, an authorization letter, and a certificate of origin. With this, we aim to make the funds paid by the state more purposeful, preventing the placement of low-quality implants in the human body and ensuring quality control," Badalyan emphasized. The MP highlighted that this bill also aims to create a favorable environment for all importers of quality products.
