Why Has the Government Not Declared Mourning for the Victims of the Recent Artsakh War? Beglaryan

Why has the Armenian government not declared mourning for the victims of the recent Artsakh war and the explosion at the fuel depot, or at least announced such an intention? This was written by former Prime Minister of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan, on his Facebook page.

“A tragedy of such scale, when around 500 individuals have died, combined with the complete dispossession of the Artsakh people, is more than a basis for national mourning. Although mourning is very much present in our lives, the absence of such symbolic state measures reveals the ideological stance of the authorities towards these events.

The last opportunity to declare mourning, in my opinion, would be October 29, the 40th day since the beginning of the war, which should last at least three days. For comparison, a two-day mourning was declared in August 2022 for the victims of the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center, whose tragedy was incomparably smaller,” he wrote.
