The City Must Be Cleared of Advertising Waste: Avinyan

Business operators with existing permits still have old-style advertisements that need to be changed by January 1, the Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, announced during a regulatory meeting of the municipality.

It was reported to the mayor that during the reporting period, 142 unauthorized outdoor advertisements have been dismantled in Yerevan.

Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan also noted that 80% of the advertisements were removed by the operators themselves at the municipality's urging: "All operators have also been offered support to ensure that after dismantling the existing ads, we provide consultations on how new advertisements can be installed within our new format and accepted criteria," said Grigoryan, reiterating that operators should primarily dismantle them themselves.

He added that the aim of the municipality is to ensure a normal exterior appearance for the city.

The mayor also stated that old advertisements must be changed by January 1, 2024: "Those operators who have had advertising permits for a long time must realize that they are also obliged to transition to new standards," Tigran Avinyan emphasized, urging them to inform about the process: "The city must be cleared of advertising waste," the mayor highlighted.
