Almost No Car Queues towards Russia at the Lars Checkpoint, Says Deputy Head of the Tax Committee

At the Upper Lars checkpoint, there are almost no queues of Armenian trucks heading towards Russia, while some queues are forming on the outbound direction towards the country.

This information was shared by the Deputy Head of the State Revenue Committee, Ashot Muradyan, during a meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration.

Muradyan assured that the Committee monitors the situation at Upper Lars on a daily basis, even multiple times a day, recognizing its significance.

According to him, over the last month, there have been two instances where the passage of trucks through the Upper Lars checkpoint was limited due to weather conditions, but these restrictions lasted only a few hours.

“There are almost no queues for vehicles heading from Armenia to Russia. Our monitoring results show that after leaving Armenia, vehicles pass through the checkpoint within 1-2, at most 3 days,” said the Deputy Head of the Tax Committee.
