Solovyov Was 'Absolutely Right' to Dismiss Satanovsky, Says Expert

Television host Vladimir Solovyov was 'absolutely right' to dismiss orientalist Yevgeny Satanovsky from the 'Solovyov LIVE' channel due to statements made against the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

This was stated by Yevgeny Satanovsky himself in an interview with Fontanka.

'Volodya wrote everything and has the right to do so. Perhaps I regret that this coincided with his 60th birthday, but it was definitely not intentional; it happened by chance,' he said.

Satanovsky recalled that in his youth he worked in the hot shop of the 'Hammer and Sickle' metalworking plant. 'People are not used to the fact that in a country called Russia, what they do can be characterized in ways they would not like. But it was as mild, polite, and cultured as possible. But at the same time, of course, Vladimir Rudolfovich acted entirely correctly; these are the rules of the game,' he emphasized.

Earlier, Satanovsky had used inappropriate expressions regarding Maria Zakharova during a live broadcast. Following this incident, Vladimir Solovyov, with whom Satanovsky collaborated, decided to dismiss the expert and also apologized to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
