Armenia's Key Challenge is to Speak Honestly with Society: Abrahamyan

The events that took place against the representation of Artsakh were clearly instigated by the authorities in Armenia and the political remnants serving them. Nonetheless, they were not uniform in participation and divided into three main groups. This was stated by opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan on his Facebook page.

“The first group consisted of several dozen organized individuals who were associated with the notorious tandem of Pashinyan-Samvel Babayan. It is presumed that the goal was to create a 'riot' and seize the Representation’s building, which would be accompanied by acts of violence against specific individuals, effectively closing the chapter on Artsakh entirely.

The second group consisted of individuals who had information about the former president of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, who, during his term, especially in its final days, conducted highly questionable financial transactions, enriching himself and his affiliates or groups operating under him. These individuals are trying to find form of retribution against Arayik Harutyunyan, his various associates, and what they consider illegal enrichers.

The third group contained people who were simply trying to understand who or what would address their social issues, what the president's well-known decree implied, and what to expect for themselves,” wrote the MP.

Tigran Abrahamyan emphasized: “I am convinced that the overwhelming majority of those gathered in front of the Artsakh representation and showing activity/aggressiveness did not even realize the full danger of their actions. The war, the blockade, and the ongoing crises have had a heavy psychological impact on people, making them highly emotional. The Artsakh authorities currently face several key challenges, such as sincerely communicating with society through various channels and clearly explaining the situation surrounding Artsakh along with its cause-and-effect relationships, as well as presenting their visions regarding the future of Artsakh and the fate of Armenians from Artsakh residing in Armenia.”

It should be noted that the Artsakh information headquarters also issued a statement regarding the events that occurred at the permanent representation of Artsakh on October 20.
