Information Headquarters on Incident at Artsakh Permanent Representation
The authorities of the Republic of Artsakh condemn the events that took place on October 20 at the Artsakh permanent representation in Armenia, where a group of individuals manifested violence and insults, violating public order and creating a non-constructive atmosphere during a gathering of citizens in the courtyard of the representation, attempting to incite mass disturbances. This was reported by the Artsakh Information Headquarters.
“President Samvel Shahramanyan was initially willing to listen to the citizens, providing clarifications on the issues that concern them as much as possible. Despite all the artificially created obstacles, President Shahramanyan met with the activists of the gathering, explaining the military-political situation that has developed around the Republic of Artsakh since September 19-20 of this year.
During the meeting, citizens raised a number of social issues, including problems related to lack of housing in Armenia. President Shahramanyan stated that the government of Artsakh will continue to document all such issues and present them to the Armenian government, as the humanitarian center of the Armenian government coordinates work on health, education, social support, and similar issues for individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh. (For clarifications regarding all arising issues, you can call the 24/7 hotline of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia at 114, or refer to the regional centers of the Unified Social Service.)
The authorities of the Republic of Artsakh request the forgiveness of those journalists and citizens whose work was obstructed under the conditions of the disturbances and who were unable to pose their questions to government representatives in the created situation. At the same time, we draw the attention of the law enforcement agencies of Armenia to the events that occurred, calling for the exclusion of manifestations of violence and mass disorder in the future,” the statement said.
