Hamas Outlines Conditions for the Release of Hostages
Hamas has outlined the conditions for the release of certain hostages. This was reported by BBC.
A representative of Hamas stated that the group is ready to release some of the hostages held in Israel, but only on the condition that Israel ceases its military operations against the Islamists.
“We are ready to release civilians, but we want the Israeli forces to stop their aggression,” said Mohammad Nazal, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, in an interview with the Qatari channel Al Jazeera.
He categorized the hostages into three groups: civilians, military personnel, and settlers, emphasizing that Hamas is willing to discuss only the release of civilians.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, on October 20, Hamas released two hostages, American citizens Judith and Natalie Raanan. The military wing of the group explained that the decision was made “for humanitarian reasons.” Qatar has been acting as a mediator in the negotiations. Footage of the release has also been published.
Additionally, the Israeli army has reported that the number of people on Hamas’s hostage list has reached 210. They noted that this number is not final.
