Azerbaijan Exploited Uncertain Situation to Resolve Conflict through Coercive Means, Armenian Ambassador at UN

Regional arrangements can play a significant role in maintaining international peace and security by promoting the peaceful resolution of disputes and the prevention and resolution of conflict situations. This was stated by Armenia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Mhher Margaryan, during the open discussion of the UN Security Council titled ‘Peace through Dialogue: The Implementation of Regional, Sub-regional, and Bilateral Arrangements in the Prevention and Peaceful Resolution of Disputes.’

The Ambassador noted that Azerbaijan has taken advantage of the uncertain situation to resolve the conflict through coercive means. He also recalled the blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan for months, which has not only violated its international obligations but also the decisions of the International Court of Justice.
