Serious Measures Needed Against Israeli Actions in Gaza, Says Iran's General Staff

There is a need for serious measures to prevent the crimes of the Israeli regime against the civilian population of Gaza. This was stated by Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, during a telephone conversation with Turkey's National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, according to RIA Novosti.

Bagheri emphasized, "Serious measures are necessary to prevent the brutal attacks of the Israeli regime on peaceful residents in the Gaza Strip and to provide humanitarian assistance to the residents." He pointed out that the extensive support by the United States, including the provision of weapons and heavy ammunition to the Israeli regime, would complicate the situation. He labeled the U.S. actions as complicity in the crimes of the Israeli regime.

It is worth recalling that on the morning of October 7, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from Gaza. The Israeli army's press service reported that extremists fired more than 3,000 rockets. Additionally, dozens of terrorists infiltrated border areas in southern Israel. The military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement announced that it was conducting an operation dubbed "Al Aqsa Flood" against Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also reported the launch of "Iron Swords" operation against Hamas in Gaza.

According to the latest data, the number of casualties in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 3,400, while the number of fatalities among Israeli citizens has reached a thousand.
