China and Russia are steadily deepening political mutual trust and maintaining close strategic cooperation. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping during bilateral negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to reports by RIA Novosti.
“I am pleased to note that governments, various agencies, and regional authorities of our country are making every effort to implement the agreements reached by Mr. President and me,” Xi Jinping announced.
He emphasized that the political mutual trust between the two countries is deepening steadily, while strategic cooperation remains close and effective. As the Chinese leader pointed out, Beijing is ready to work with Moscow to defend international justice and contribute to prosperity around the world.
“China is ready to work with Russia, clearly aware of the common historical trend, following global development, and always based on the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two countries, to steadily enrich bilateral cooperation with new content, embody the responsibility of major countries, contribute to the development and revival of both countries, safeguard international justice and impartiality, as well as promote the overall development of the world,” Xi Jinping stated.
Addressing the economic aspect of bilateral relations, he noted that trade volume between Russia and China has reached a historical record. “Bilateral trade has reached a record level and is steadily approaching our target of 200 billion dollars,” said the Chinese leader.
As of the results for the first three quarters of 2023, bilateral trade between Russia and China has increased by 29.5% and amounted to approximately 176.4 billion dollars. It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in China on October 17.
