VIDEO: Major Fire at Ice Arena Under Construction in Yekaterinburg
A fire has broken out for the second time at the construction site of an ice arena in Yekaterinburg, according to Uralinfo, citing the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"Today at 12:28 PM, a fire occurred in Yekaterinburg, on Stepan Razin Street, at the site of a sports facility under construction. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that insulating material was burning. Rescuers are making every effort to contain the fire as quickly as possible," the report states.
This information was confirmed to RBC by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Sverdlovsk region. The construction site had already experienced a fire on August 17, where 10 square meters of paint and varnish materials and insulation burned on the sixth floor.
Two hundred people were evacuated from the construction site. Later, firefighters managed to localize the fire, with paint burning over an area of 10 square meters.
