“This is not a threat, but…” Putin on permanent patrol of MiG-31s in the Black Sea
The Russian Aerospace Forces have begun permanent patrols in the Black Sea. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference held in Beijing.
The President emphasized that this is not a threat, but Russia will monitor the situation in the Mediterranean Sea, where the Americans have recently sent two aircraft carrier strike groups.
“At my instruction, the Russian Aerospace Forces are commencing permanent patrols in the neutral airspace over the Black Sea. Our MiG-31 aircraft are armed with ‘Kinzhal’ complexes,” the Russian President stated.
Putin reminded that these hypersonic systems have a range of over one thousand kilometers and can reach speeds of nine Mach.
