Hamas Prepared to Release All Hostages if Israel Halts Airstrikes on Gaza
A senior Hamas official has informed NBC News journalist Richard Engel that the group is ready to immediately release all civilian hostages, including foreign nationals and Israelis, if Israel stops its airstrikes on Gaza.
The Hamas representative stated that the hostages could be released within an hour if Israel meets their conditions. He asserted that there is currently no safe place to free the hostages.
“In exchange for the release of Israeli soldiers held hostage, Israel must free all Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons,” said the Hamas spokesperson.
The spokesperson also announced that the United States and Israel are already aware of the conditions for the release of civilian hostages, as the militant group has disclosed them in conversations with leaders of several Arab countries.
