Direct Dialogue Necessary to Resolve Protracted Armenia-Azerbaijan Conflict, State Department
The United States is "deeply concerned" about unresolved political, economic, humanitarian, and security issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“We continue to call on the leaders of both countries to reach a dignified and lasting peace that respects the rights of all,” said a State Department representative.
“As we have said, the use of force is unacceptable, and direct dialogue is necessary to resolve this protracted conflict,” the State Department representative told a Turan correspondent in Washington.
“We continue to support the efforts of the Armenian government to closely coordinate actions with humanitarian organizations to help displaced persons find shelter and comfort in Armenia. We empathize with the displaced people, knowing the shock and trauma they are experiencing, and the uncertainty they are facing,” the spokesperson added.
