15,000 Children Displaced from Artsakh Have Received 100,000 Drams, Minister Says

The Armenian government has provided 100,000 drams to approximately 14,600 children forcibly displaced from Artsakh. This information was shared today, October 17, during a press conference at the humanitarian center by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan.

“A separate platform has been launched for minors, where the child's mother must fill in the information, after which the money will be transferred. Out of about 30,000 children, applications have already been submitted for 27,300. Last week, we were able to pay the sum to 14,593 of them. The other applications are in the processing stage,” said Mkrtchyan.

He emphasized that more than 80,000 citizens have also received 100,000 drams. The minister also addressed the program under which displaced individuals from Nagorno-Karabakh are receiving monthly assistance of 50,000 drams for renting apartments and compensating for utility expenses. “Starting in November, our compatriots who own their own apartments in Armenia will receive 10,000 drams for utility cost compensation,” the minister stated.

Mkrtchyan added that there are currently 200 elderly individuals displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh residing in the ministry’s care centers, and more than 200 children are receiving various assistance from the ministry.

According to official data, 100,632 forcibly displaced citizens have arrived in the Republic of Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh.
