The Critical Life-and-Death Battle for Armenia's Existence is Yet to Come, Says Iran Expert

Despite the hanging of a flag representing what is referred to as Azerbaijan in the Armenian city of Stepanakert, our fundamental issue has not changed. This was stated by Iranian studies expert Vardan Voskanian on his Telegram channel.

“Why hasn't it changed? Because, ultimately, it must be recorded in our Armenian discourse that the issue is by no means just the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. At least for the enemy, there has never been such an issue, which becomes abundantly clear after what they call a ‘resolution,’ when the target of the enemy has become overtly the Republic of Armenia,” Voskanian wrote.

“Initially, the barbaric regime in Baku, which is a cancerous metastasis of a pan-Turkic illusion fed by Ankara on the body of the South Caucasus, has fundamentally framed the issue this way: ‘either us or Armenia.’ Unfortunately, we are still reluctant to acknowledge this today,” he added.

“Therefore, the critical life-and-death battle for Armenia’s existence is still ahead, and we can and must turn this battle towards the end of the existence of the artificial formation called Azerbaijan. For this, our priority is first to realize and record the problem, and then to construct the state-fortress Armenia as quickly and effectively as possible, which will emerge honorably from that inevitable decisive battle, resolving the either-or question in favor of millennia-long plans for the preservation and development of the Armenian statehood,” Voskanian concluded.
