Azerbaijanis Detained and Later Released: Nersisyan Provides Details

The former Prime Minister of Artsakh, Gurgen Nersisyan, along with his family, has also moved to Armenia. However, this process was not entirely smooth. At the checkpoint installed at the Hakari Bridge, during the inspection, Azerbaijani border guards immediately recognized him and detained him. This information is reported by Armlur.am.

For a considerable time, his wife and children remained in the vehicle, while Gurgen Nersisyan was under the control of Azerbaijani border service staff. He was released through the intervention of employees from the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, who are part of the peacekeeping forces in Artsakh.

The media also managed to establish phone contact with Gurgen Nersisyan, who confirmed the fact of his relocation to Armenia, the detention by Azerbaijanis at the Hakari Bridge, and his subsequent release after a certain amount of time. He stated that he did not speak about this matter or publicize it as there were still officials in Artsakh at that time, and making statements or discussing the relocation from Artsakh to Armenia could create certain issues for them.

When asked what he would do in Armenia and whether he received any job offers in the state system, Gurgen Nersisyan replied that he had not received a job offer, that he is a lawyer by profession, and that he would try to find work in that field.
