Renowned Composer Gennady Gladkov Has Passed Away

Renowned Soviet and Russian composer Gennady Gladkov has passed away, reports RIA Novosti. He celebrated his 88th birthday this past February.

Gladkov is known as the author of songs featured in the animated films 'The Bremen Town Musicians' and 'The Bremen Town Musicians Follow Up,' and he also voiced the character of King Fool.

As a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Gladkov's music has been heard in over 110 films, including 'The Kid and Carlson,' 'Gentlemen of Fortune,' '12 Chairs,' 'The Blue Puppy,' 'The Dog in the Hay,' 'An Ordinary Miracle,' 'The Formula of Love,' 'Thursday After the Rain,' and 'The Man from Capuchin Street.'
