Lawyer Discusses Vitaly Balasanyan's Interrogation at NSS and Reports of Arrest by Azerbaijanis

Hero of Artsakh and former Secretary of the Security Council, Vitaly Balasanyan, has been interrogated at the National Security Service (NSS). His lawyer, Rafael Martirosyan, confirmed this to Sputnik Armenia.

He was summoned to the NSS as a witness.

“Vitaly Balasanyan has been interrogated in connection with a criminal case, the details of which I cannot disclose. I can say that he was questioned as a witness. Additionally, I want to emphasize that his statements do not relate to the progress of the case or the accused,” Martirosyan stated.

It is worth noting that following the forced displacement of the population from the Republic of Artsakh, there have been conflicting reports in the media and on social networks regarding Balasanyan's fate. Some reports claimed that Azerbaijani forces had arrested him. The lawyer assured Sputnik Armenia that no one has arrested his client.
