Car Crashes into Tree in Yerevan: One Dead and One Injured
A man has died as a result of a car accident that occurred in Yerevan last night, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The National Crisis Management Center received a call on October 14 at 20:43, reporting an accident near the "Europa-Versal" restaurant complex on Lenin Avenue. Emergency services were requested for assistance.
A firefighting team from the Yerevan Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to the scene. It was established that a "Mercedes-Benz" vehicle (driver: A. S., born in 1991) had veered off the road and crashed into a tree, resulting in a fuel leak.
Paramedics at the scene confirmed the death of passenger Y. K. (born in 1992), while the driver was transported to a medical center.
According to Shamshyan.com, the driver underwent a sobriety test at the hospital and was found to be intoxicated. It was also noted that he had previously lost his driving privileges once.
Several citizens gathered at the scene, who recognized the driver, stated that the deceased was his fiancée.
