600 Thousand People Evacuated to Southern Gaza, Israeli Defense Forces Report

According to i24NEWS, 600,000 Palestinians have been evacuated from the north of the Gaza Strip to the south, citing the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

"The Israeli Defense Forces report that more than 600,000 Palestinians have been evacuated from northern Gaza to the south," the publication states.

Last Friday, Israel ordered residents of the Gaza Strip to move to the southern region. This involves approximately 1.1 million people. As emphasized by IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus, Israeli soldiers will assess the number of remaining civilians, and if the situation allows, combat operations will commence.

The UN has called on Israel to cancel the order, as the displacement of over one million people would have devastating humanitarian consequences. Authorities appointed by HAMAS in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian government in the West Bank have rejected the demand, labeling it a second exodus following the forced removal of Palestinians in 1948.
