Washington Announces North Korea Supplied Weapons to Russia
Washington has announced that it has information indicating that North Korea has supplied Russia with over 1,000 containers of military equipment and ammunition in recent weeks for use in its war against Ukraine. This was stated by U.S. National Security Spokesperson John Kirby.
The White House released a graphic illustrating how the transfer occurred. It shows that during the period from September 7 to October 1, the containers were loaded onto a ship flying the Russian flag before being transferred to railway cars and transported across Russia to an ammunition depot located about 290 miles from the border with Ukraine.
“We condemn [North Korea] for providing military equipment to Russia, which will be used to attack Ukrainian cities and kill Ukrainian civilians,” Kirby said. “We will continue to monitor any additional [North Korean] arms deliveries to Russia.”
