Expert Examination Assigned for Mother Who Exhibited Brutal Treatment Towards Child
Following the release of horrifying videos showing the brutal treatment of a child by her mother, Anna Arevshatyan, authorities have decided to conduct a psychological examination to determine whether there are health issues concerning the mother and her children. This was reported by the newspaper "Zhoghovurd".
According to the newspaper's information, the investigation is currently exploring the theory that the mother, by acting in such a way towards her own child, aimed to prove to her husband that she had punished their daughter for testifying against him.
It is worth mentioning that in connection with the criminal case, law enforcement officials entered the Nubarashen prison and conducted a search. The reason for this is that Anna Arevshatyan's husband, Tatul Madatyan, is imprisoned for committing sexual violence against his own children and is currently serving his sentence at the Nubarashen penitentiary.
The search in the prison specifically targeted the cell of the father, Manvel Madatyan, who was also found guilty of sexual violence. According to information received by the newspaper, there were mobile phones in the cell, and Tatul Madatyan also possessed a phone.
Recall that on August 18, a video showcasing the brutal treatment of the child was published on social media. Later, the Police of Armenia announced that the woman had been located; she is a 34-year-old resident of Gavar. A criminal case was initiated against her, and on August 19, the mother was arrested and is currently in the "Abovyan" penitentiary.
Based on the gathered evidence, on August 19, 2023, public criminal prosecution was initiated against the children's mother, and she was charged under parts 3, 4, and 6 of Article 196 of the RA Criminal Code (causing physical or mental suffering to a minor with particular cruelty).
She has also been charged under paragraphs 1 and 2 of part 3 of Article 198 (committing sexual violence against a person under the age of 12 to 14 by a close relative or by a person responsible for the upbringing, care, or treatment of the child). Furthermore, charges have been brought under parts 1 and 2 of Article 239 (involving a child in acts related to the preparation or distribution of pornographic materials using information or communication technologies by a person responsible for the upbringing, care, or treatment of the child) and parts 1 and 2 of Article 300 (preparing, distributing, or storing pornographic materials by a close relative, combined with cruel treatment of a minor).
