“Araik Harutyunyan Gave Me the Opportunity to Negotiate with Baku,” Says Samvel Babayan
When Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan gave me the opportunity to negotiate with Baku, everyone listened in silence and did not speak out, they turned to Harutyunyan, and he nodded, saying, ‘yes, that’s it,’ now I want to understand why that fifth column is making such a fuss.
This was stated by Samvel Babayan during a conversation with reporters.
“Have they fallen ill? They know where the investigative department is, let them write their applications there so that Babayan can be prosecuted. I have already written about them so that they can be dealt with, if they can, they should write too,” he said.
When asked what format the negotiations take place in, Babayan said, “There are no negotiations taking place; a consensus on principles is happening. Once those are agreed upon, they will sit face to face in Baku to negotiate: ‘I will go to Baku, I will go to Africa, I am ready for my people. Now, where they are keeping him detained, I was there at the age of 26 when I sat. They cannot detain me, they have detained those who should be detained,’” he said.
