Putin on Businessman Friedman’s Return to Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken about businessman Mikhail Friedman’s return to Russia. He stated that citizens who left the country could have violated moral and ethical standards.
According to Putin, each returning citizen's situation depends on their behavior; if they violated the laws in the country, they must face consequences. It does not matter where they are—whether in Russia or abroad, the state leader is convinced.
“If in the consciousness of the overwhelming majority of citizens—not some elite, but the overwhelming majority—this person has shown immorality towards Russia, then, of course, this will be felt when he returns here. What else could it be?” the president added.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian businessman Mikhail Friedman had left the United Kingdom for Israel, and then visited Moscow. It was also reported that he faces charges of treason and was to be investigated for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
