Impeachment of Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili Practically Excluded: 'Georgian Dream'
The Georgian Dream party will not secure the necessary 100 votes out of 150. This was stated by the chairman of the Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, on October 12.
Zourabichvili is accused of visiting European Union countries without the government’s permission. 'We will likely hold a vote next week regarding Zourabichvili’s impeachment. Let’s see what the procedures will be like. You know that Zourabichvili has violated the Constitution by relying on radical opposition, thus, practically there are not 100 votes,' said Kobakhidze.
Currently, there are 10 vacant seats in Georgia’s 150-seat Parliament. The ruling coalition of the Georgian Dream and the People's Power holds 85 mandates, while the opposition represents various parties and unions totaling 55.
