No Payments Made to Artsakh State Apparatus Employees for September, MP Says
Artsakh National Assembly member Metakse Hakobyan confirmed in an interview with MediaHub.am that there were no payments made to employees of the state apparatus for September, and they have information that there will be no salaries in October, although these reports are not official.
She stated that they have not been notified in any way that they will not be receiving their salaries.
“I believe it is the responsibility of the RA authorities to transfer the salaries of Artsakh state employees, as they are currently managing the funds of our state budget,” said Hakobyan.
She also informed that they still consider themselves to be members of parliament, as the Artsakh National Assembly cannot be dissolved by anyone; it must dissolve itself.
“I think that not only the MPs but everyone should receive their salaries, as 70% of the population are state employees. These people have rented homes with the hope of receiving their salaries, and now they are facing a harsh reality. We also do not know whom to turn to; it is chaos,” Hakobyan added.
The press had reported that despite President Samvel Shahramanyan's decree stating that Artsakh's state agencies should operate until January 1, 2024, and this timeline being set so that displaced Artsakhtsis, 70% of whom are state apparatus employees, could receive salaries for several months, citizens have reported that not everyone has even received their September salaries, and it is possible that they will not receive them at all.
