Former Hamas Leader Calls for Protests Across the Muslim World to Join War Against Israel
Former leader of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Khaled Mashal, has called for protests to support Palestinians to be organized across the entire Muslim world this Friday. He has also urged the peoples of neighboring countries to join the fight against Israel, according to Reuters.
“We must move to the squares and streets of the Arab and Islamic world this Friday,” said Mashal, who currently heads Hamas's diaspora office.
Located in Qatar, Mashal emphasized that the governments and peoples of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt have a greater obligation to support the Palestinians.
On Saturday, Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on parts of southern Israel, which has become the deadliest assault by Palestinian militants in Israel's history. Reports indicate that Israeli human casualties have exceeded 1,200, as stated by Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Jonathan Conricus. He detailed that most of the victims are civilians.
Meanwhile, the number of casualties in Gaza due to Israeli military operations has surpassed 950, with more than 5,000 people injured. This information was provided by the Gaza Ministry of Health. It is known that there are over two hundred children among the victims.
