Nikol Pashinyan Begins Searching for Candidates to Replace Ministers

Nikol Pashinyan has started looking for candidates to replace ministers who are set to resign shortly. This was reported by the newspaper “Haykakan Zhamanak.”

“Just a month ago, we wrote that after the municipal elections, Nikol Pashinyan would begin to make changes in the executive branch. Those ministers who have shown inaction during this period will be bidding farewell to their positions. Among the ‘inactive’ ministers are the Minister of Justice Grigor Minasian, the Minister of Environment Hakob Simidian, the Minister of Urban Development Gnel Sanosyan, as well as the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan.

According to sources within the ruling party, Nikol Pashinyan has already begun the search for replacements for these ministers. Our information indicates that Pashinyan sees Gevorg Papoyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction and the chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, as a potential replacement for Narek Mkrtchyan. It is emphasized that no final decision has been made on this matter, and discussions are still ongoing.

In a conversation with the newspaper “Haykakan Zhamanak,” Gevorg Papoyan stated that he has not been offered such a position: “This has not been discussed with me, I have not been offered this, I feel very good in the parliament and have a lot to do here, but, of course, it depends on the decision of my political team and leader.” No clarifications are available regarding the others yet.
