13,000 UN Personnel Trapped in Gaza Strip

Approximately 13,000 UN personnel remain trapped in the Gaza Strip. Israel announced a blockade yesterday, according to UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric.

The staff in question are from the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

It is noteworthy that on the morning of October 7, Israel experienced an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military reported that extremists launched over 3,000 rockets. Additionally, dozens of militants infiltrated border areas in southern Israel. In response, Israel has conducted counterstrikes. Earlier, the Israeli Ministry of Defense issued a statement announcing a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip.
