We Support the Establishment of a Corridor Between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan Through Iran: Kanani

The spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani, addressed the issue of establishing a connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Iranian territory during a press conference.

He noted, "This is not something new: The Iranian corridor has been at Azerbaijan's disposal for 34 years. Collaboration continues within this framework. Given the new realities, there is an opportunity to affirm that collaboration according to the new geography. Iran has welcomed Azerbaijan's request for cooperation. Mr. Bazrpashi's visit and the opening of the bridge are part of that collaborative framework."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirmed Tehran's position on the issue of corridors. "We fundamentally support discussions on transit and regional corridors; however, we emphasize that the corridors should be established in accordance with the sovereignty of countries and international law."

It should also be noted that during the press conference, Kanani emphasized that Iran is ready to support dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
