VIDEO: Arthur Davtyan Loses Title of World Champion
Arthur Davtyan, the bronze medalist from the Tokyo Olympic Games, was unable to win a medal in the vault exercise at the World Gymnastics Championships.
In the nearing conclusion of the championship held in Antwerp, Belgium, the two-time European champion secured 6th place. The 2022 World Champion in vault did not perform successfully in his first attempt during the finals. The 31-year-old gymnast's second attempt was the best among all participants, scoring 15.11 points; however, with the average score of his two performances, the representative of Armenia registered 14.549 points, placing him in 6th position.
The title of World Champion was awarded to British gymnast Jake Jarman. It's worth noting that Arthur Davtyan secured a quota for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at this championship. Other Armenian representatives also failed to reach the podium at the World Championships.
