Israeli Army Announces Completion of Military Operations in Cities
The fighting in Israeli cities has concluded, with more than 4,400 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, according to a report by timesofisrael.com, citing the Israeli Defense Forces’ press service. The populated areas along the border with the Gaza Strip are currently under military control. At the same time, the Israeli Defense Forces acknowledged that armed individuals still remain in the cities.
It is worth noting that yesterday, the Israeli political-security cabinet approved the implementation of a key law known as “Point 40,” which signifies an official declaration of war. This was announced by the office of the Israeli Prime Minister.
Recall that the number of casualties has exceeded 700 due to the massive attack carried out by the Palestinian Hamas group on Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip, along with thousands of rockets launched towards Israel. Among the casualties are dozens of soldiers and police officers. In Gaza, over 400 Palestinians have been reported dead as a result of Israeli airstrikes.
On Saturday morning, Israel faced unprecedented bombardment from the Gaza Strip, with the Israeli army’s press service announcing that more than 3,000 rockets were fired. Additionally, dozens of Hamas militants have infiltrated Israel's southern border areas.
The military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement announced on Saturday the launch of the operation against Israel called “Al Aqsa Storm.” The Israeli Defense Forces declared the start of “Iron Swords” operations against Hamas in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation, stating that the country is in a state of war and announcing a call for widespread mobilization of reserves. The military wing of Hamas, the “Al Qassam” brigades, claimed that they have taken dozens of Israeli soldiers and officers hostage.
