Tbilisi Hopes Baku and Yerevan Will Soon Sign Peace Agreement: Gharibashvili

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, expressed hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will soon conclude a peace agreement. This statement was made during a joint briefing with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Georgia.

“I reaffirmed Georgia’s support and respect for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty,” said Gharibashvili.

He reminded that Georgia maintains a neutral stance on this issue and confirmed its readiness to contribute to mediation efforts between Armenia and Azerbaijan. “Tbilisi is always ready to participate in this process. Our future must be peaceful and stable. The three countries of the South Caucasus must resolve the issues of the region and future development themselves,” he added.

It should be noted that since the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh, Georgia has repeatedly offered a platform for regulating relations between Yerevan and Baku. Furthermore, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that meetings on normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations could potentially take place in Tbilisi.
