Aliyev on Possible Meetings in Tbilisi Regarding Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has stated that it is possible to hold meetings in Tbilisi concerning the resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“If such an agreement is reached, representatives of our relevant structures can come to Georgia for a bilateral or trilateral meeting (on resolving Armenian-Azerbaijani relations),” said Aliyev at a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli.
Azerbaijani media report that Aliyev believes that if a peace treaty is signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia, a new political situation will emerge in the South Caucasus. He assured that missing such an opportunity would be a significant mistake.
It was also mentioned earlier that a face-to-face meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the President of Azerbaijan had begun in Tbilisi. It is known that Aliyev traveled to Georgia for a working visit at Garibashvili's invitation.
